- The Laboratory of Thermophysical Properties & Environmental Processes was established in 1983 (as Transport Properties Laboratory) in the Chemical Engineering Department at Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece, following a 5 year experience with the transient hot-wire technique. During the last two decades the activities have been increased and new environmental processess have been added, as seen in the diagram. In addition to these activities, the Laboratory has been active in developing multimedia tools for educational purposes. This success is attributed to the international cooperation and also to the postgraduate and graduate students that worked in the Laboratory.

- In 2019 the site got its 4th major upgrade. I am grateful to Yannis Assael for helping with this upgrade. The first site came up around 1993 - those were the glorious days of the start of the internet here. The days of students (and friends) like Zafiris Galis, Giannis Sarakatsanis (EE), and later Dimitris Zaharopoulos, who helped so much in the computer center and the start of computing activities in the Department. Those were the days, that we created one of the first magazines in the internet (as discussed in many newspapers at that time!!) and Kyriakos Panopoulos exhibited his photographs in the internet...
- In 1999, the "Unit Operations" course was uploaded, probably the first online interactive course from AUTh. The present upgrade is based on the same joomla template that the previous department's site was based. The template was bought for LTPEP, but since it was considered one of the most beautiful ones, it was also used for the previous department's site...
