Recycling the retails of fabrics and threads can provide a useful solution to the reduction of the solid waste produced in the dyeing and finishing industry. The recycled material can be used as raw material in various processes in the plant or for other purposes such as cleaning, adsorpting colours, insulating, producing geotextiles, etc. Moreover, recycling reduces the dust emissions to the atmosphere.
Another practice of solid waste minimisation is the reduction of the packages of the used materials (dyes' chemicals). This practice can be achieved by returning empty vessels to suppliers, buying recyclable vessels and categorising the produced solid waste (plastic, paper, metals, etc). In this way the solid waste that needs to be managed is reduced and as a consequence the disposal cost is minimised
