These Guidelines aims to supports the development of the industrial sector of product processing and to help in the application of practices of waste minimisation in the production process. They are focused in the presentation of the methodological approach which is followed, independent of the type of industry, for the developement and application of a program of waste minimisation.

The Guidelines constitute an useful information tool for each industry which is interested in adopting a full preventive policyin order to minimise enviromental waste disposal. It is known that the lack of information is the main reason for the limited application of practices of pollution prevention.

The suggested measures and proposals that are included in the Guidelines can be applied in all the industries.
